Wing Ding 34 —“Fun In The Fort”— Fort Wayne, Indiana, July 4-7, 2012—This year’s Wing Ding had 8,000+ attendees and began with a big ole Hoosier Hospitality welcome from the city of Fort Wayne. It was filled with great friends, great fun, and despite what Mother Nature had planned for Fort Wayne, the city and the local CVB did an outstanding job as host to our GWRRA family and the event was a huge success!
Kicking off Wing Ding 34 was a welcome party in the Amish community of Grabill, Indiana. Attendees enjoyed a trade show and events at the air-conditioned Memorial Coliseum. The 35th Anniversary celebration Rooftop Party at IPFW featured a spectacular July 4th fireworks display and the J&M entertainment show featured an evening of music, dance and comedy theater with Vocal Trash that was a hit with all attendees. Wing Ding 34 and Ft. Wayne, Indiana seem to just go together, like Peanut Butter and Jelly. What a great time we have had in the past at this great city. They have lots to do, plenty of great shops, restaurants, and most importantly ice cream shops. But, getting there is half the fun trying to decide what to wear, packing, and getting the bike ready for the road.
We would like to invite all of you to come early and have lots of fun with us for the Couple of the Year selection. This takes place the day before Wing Ding actually opens. These couples are rather special to us, as is the Couple of the Year program. It is such an honor to be chosen whether it be at the Chapter, District, or Region level. The excitement you feel when you get on stage and your Region is out there blowing horns, making noise, and just plan rooting you on is overwhelming. There is so much love and admiration in the room; we are surprised that the room doesn’t burst at the seams.
This journey we have been on has many memories for us that will last a life time. Everyone has been so nice that we feel we have known them forever. The hospitality given us has been just overwhelming, and greatly appreciated. We love you all. As our time draws near to pass the torch to the new International Couple we want to wish all the Couples, best wishes. So, come early and cheer your Regional Couple on in this special part of Wing Ding 34.
On your voyage to Wing Ding please ride safe and enjoy your stay in Ft. Wayne and Wing Ding 34.
